Brazil opens market to Belgian pears

As of February 2017, Belgian pear producers will be able to export their production to Brazil.  The welcoming news was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply and published at the Official Newspaper last Friday (17/02). Belgium is the largest pear exporter worldwide with over 250.000 tons of this fruit exported annually. Brazil exports to Belgium orange juice, processed beef, tobacco and soybean meal.

Heineken takes over Brazilian brewer for 664 million

Last month in a brief press release Heineken confirmed rumors in the market that the brewer was talking with Japan’s Kirin about a possible acquisition of the Brazilian operations of its rival.
